A bonafide homestead community association can apply for membership into the SCHHA by submitting a letter to the president of the ahupua'a of the island to which the homestead community association is located. 

Consequently, the president of the ahupua'a will submit a letter of request for membership into the SCHHA to the Chairman.

Membership is voted on by SCHHA members at quarterly meetings, special meetings or the SCHHA's annual convention.
